About
Hi! I’m Melissa, a licensed Small Animal Massage Therapist. My journey started in 2021 when I decided my soul was calling for a more fulfilling career. With my grey muzzled girl as my inspiration, I enrolled in the Northwest School of Animal Massage & found my true calling.
Around 2005, I adopted a 10 year old chocolate lab who lit up my entire world, her name was Stella. Nearly 15 years later, my current senior lab-mix Ellie found her way to my world. Their names combined are the inspiration for Stellie's.

Q: Isn't massage just a luxury treatment meant for pampering?
A: Not at all! Massage can be a great addition to your dogs standard care. Sure, they’ll relax during the session but the health benefits, such as increased circulation & decreased blood pressure, will carry on after the massage is complete. Regular massage is also a wonderful preventative way to keep tabs on any small changes to your dog’s body.
Q: My dog is slow to stand up after a long nap , can massage help?
A: Massage can help to improve blood flow, remove metabolic waste & increase endorphins to help with your dogs discomfort. But you should always check with your vet to see if there may be a medical reason for mobility issues.
Q: What if my dog doesn’t take to massage right away?
A: I will ensure your dog is comfortable & we are moving at a pace that feels right to them. Reading their body signals will help show me what they need, creating a productive session. It may take a couple of visits for them to associate the hands-on process with how great their body feels in the hours/days following a session.
Q: My dog is just a puppy, is there any benefit in massage for them?
A: Absolutely. I’ve had a 5 month old Cane Corso melt in my hands before! Their growing body will enjoy the stretching & gentle care around their joints. Massage can also be beneficial after spay/neuter surgery to help ensure that the tissues around the surgical site heal in a healthy way.
